Daisy!

Today- I was running around doing errands for the booth, the presentation, and the pizza bash.

I went yesterday to Best Buy to get the Dell Mini that we are giving away- to find they did not have any. After being ignored the by huddle of workers in the computer area- I went over to ask them if they had any more Dell Mini's. They looked at me in that disgusted look as one of them quickly told me in a piercing voice, "What we have in stock is already out."

I was determined then to eaves drop on their conversation to find out if they were indeed having a "meeting" or just idle chat time. They were in the midst of a HUGE ROUND of personal conversation, bantering back and forth. All of this was happening while three customers (yes I counted them) were being ignored. I then walked up to one of them and said, "Since you are out of them here, can you check and see which close stores have them in stock?"

He just looked at me.

I said, "I mean look in your computer."

He walks over to the computer and puts in his password four times before getting it right. He then searches for it. There is a whole list of cities and the amount of in-stock computers show on the screen. I said - what about Conway- that is close. He ignores me and says, "Looks like Hot Springs has them."

I looked at him amazed, "What about Conway? That is a lot closer for me."

"Nope, I don't see any."

I am reading the screen (which I used to hate when clients did this to me at the travel agency) and see 7 at the location.

I did the cardinal sin and touched his screen and said- see here they have 7 in stock.

I walked off frustrated. In thinking back over the conversation I should have gone back and turned off his screen while he was typing just to irritate him :)

When I left I exhaled- hoping that the whole store was not filled with carbon dioxide and that is why the workers were huddled for safety ignoring the shoppers.

So now- back to my current story....

I am on the road driving to Conway and looked down at my phone- I had 7 missed calls. Wow- that is why I did not have any calls this morning. I left it in the car after dropping of Emma at school this AM. I returned 6 calls- one person did not leave a VM.

While driving I looked at this huge field on my left. There was this huge black bull galloping and twirling in circles. He caught my eye so much that I pulled over (it's a country road folks- don't freak) and watched him for about five minutes. He would leap, jump, and snort, and then stop and look at the wildflowers that were in his field. I loved it. I should have taken a picture of him.

I sat there and thanked the Lord for this big black bull who the Lord sent my way. God had him do a ballet recital just for me. I think that the Lord has a sense of humor and tries drastically to get our attention on a daily basis- but we are so fixed on our task at hand we miss out on the sweet goodness.

I would have loved to have gone over and given him a huge hug- but alas I think he would not have been so cheerful face to face.

Finally after realizing that I needed to get back on the road I left my friend. I named him Daisy. I know it is a female name- but he had incredible eyelashes!

I am reminded today about all of the vital "Times" in our life. Ecc. 3:4-8 in the Message reads:

A right time for birth and another for death,
A right time to plant and another to reap,
A right time to kill and another to heal,
A right time to destroy and another to construct,
A right time to cry and another to laugh,
A right time to lament and another to cheer,
A right time to make love and another to abstain,
A right time to embrace and another to part,
A right time to search and another to count your losses,
A right time to hold on and another to let go,
A right time to rip out and another to mend,
A right time to shut up and another to speak up,
A right time to love and another to hate,
A right time to wage war and another to make peace.

If I had been with you we could have joined Daisy in the field for a dance. At a safe distance, of course. I agree tho, many times we get busy and caught up with 'stuff' that we miss the little things the Lord is bringing our way.

So...

Did you get the Dell Mini? :)

And yeah, I think you should have ate some Cheetos THEN touched your finger to his screen.

Or used your New Yawk accent.

Cause that was JUST NOT KOSHER of him to be that unhelpful! :)

Can't wait to see you next week!

You are so right Cylinda -- I feel like this is what I experience so many times a day. I'm trying to stop and smell the roses a bit more, savor the moment...miss you tremendously! I tried getting up way early to email you...been on my mind the last few days.. and I was foiled once again by an almost 5 year old and 2 year old that thought it would be cute to get up at 5:30 am! Daddy's been gone all week and note back until Friday so it makes the early AM wake ups especially fun! Miss you and so glad to see your blogs again!
