Some Days

You have to just buy an orange watch at Wal-Mart for $5.00

Yep- and don't think I am a kidding.

Don't be jealous

I bet there is one sitting there on clearance with your name on it too.

Today was a little crazy. Most of the details I can't blog about- but-
What I can blog about is about how cool Jesus is for keeping his hand on my brother and his family in the Dominican Republic! Haiti had a 7.0 earthquake today and in case you can't picture it- they share the same island with Haiti!

He is a good God.

Great idea for the day- how do you pay allowance? I told my little cuties that this year they will get allowance based on the number of books that they read. Guess who has been walking around with a book attached to her hip all day- Miss Non Reader. Hmmm I will have to give you the update.

Thanks John Maxwell for another great idea!

I am so happy to hear that your brother and his family are okay! As soon as I read the news about the earthquake, I came to your blog hoping you had posted some news.

As for the allowance, sometimes homemade coupons or gift cards are better than actual cash. I think Abbey has lost more of her allowance than she has spent!

Love that watch - mine is brown, from Target...

So glad to hear your brother and family are okay. We experienced a 6.5 earthquake in '94 so I know how scary they are.

Mine is hot pink! I am trying to put together an allowance plan for Timo this year as well.

HA! Allowance here in 2010 is based on how many fruits and veggies can be eaten... H-A-R-D.. but could be lucrative. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I'm praying for Haiti and your family, too...

Bought 32 of those watches before Christmas. LOVED the hot pink ones - for a charity our church was buying for - however, sigh, I paid $8 each! SO thankful for the GIFT of protection to your brothers family!! GOD is awesome - praying with you for the families in Haiti! When A & R were little I used to give allowances for great worshipping in church...some may not think this is "right", however, I now have boys that worship with their whole heart - without getting an allowance for it!

We have $2 books, $5 books, $10 books on our reading list. The kids choose the books they want to read and have to give an oral report to us on it. It is interesting to watch them look at the numbers of the pages and font size to determine which books are the best value for their time!
